The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), includes 38 countries that span Europe, Asia, the Americas, Oceania and the Middle East. The OECD establishes evidence-based international standards in a variety of areas including education, and they are well-known for the PISA test that is given to students worldwide. Jo worked with them on Learning Compass 2030, an initiative to make recommendations for mathematics education. During the OECD’s webinar launching their report, Jo shared ideas about mathematics teaching and learning and showed a new film featuring a teacher implementing the ideas with her students. Below is the classroom video, a recording of the webinar and the OECD paper – which is a really valuable set of ideas that we encourage you to read.
